Frenectomy Post-Operation Care
Post operative discomfort is minimal with frenectomy performed with the Erbium Laser. Initial healing occurs in 5-7 days. In most cases, no pain medication is needed. If your child experiences discomfort, you may use Children’s Paracetamol or a similar product.
- Please avoid spicy, crusty food and sour fruit juices for 1 week.
- Rinsing the area after eating for a few days. Prepare the rinse solution by dissolving a teaspoon of salt in a glass of warm water. You may also prepare the rinse solution with Peroxyl to reduce healing time.
- Limit activities which could result in the area being traumatized or hit for 5-7 days.
- Patient can return to school or work the day after the treatment is completed.
