INFECTION CONTROL

At DP Dental, your safety is our highest priority.  Throughout the day, we continuously and thoroughly sterilize our equipment for your protection. Our autoclave sterilizer and ultrasonic machine are monitored regularly to ensure their effectiveness and safety. Every patient receives a new water cup, bib and saliva ejector. Dental equipments are thoroughly disinfected and autoclaved after each patient; a new, completely sterile set is opened only in the presence of a new patient. Staff members use masks, safety glasses, and new gloves for each patient. All staff members are updated annually in proper patient protection procedures. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding patient protection.

Ultrasonic Cleansing – BIOSONIC® UC50DB

Ultrasonic cleaning is a process created by high frequency sound-waves. The sound-waves create high energy cavitation. During cavitation millions of tiny bubbles form and then implode, releasing enormous amounts of energy and shock waves. This powerful scouring action reaches into minute crevices which cannot be reached by manual scrubbing. The combination of energy and specially formulated solutions make ultrasonic cleaning the most effective method for removing microscopic debris.

BioSonic is a complete ultrasonic cleaning system which consists of three different cleaner unit sizes, a full line of cleaning solutions and unit accessories which provide our clinic with the flexibility to efficiently clean and disinfect instruments, prostheses and other items.

Autoclave Sterilizer – SIRONA DAC PROFESSIONAL

Sirona DAC Professional Autoclave Dental

The DAC PROFESSIONAL is classified according to “Class B” of the EN 13060 European norm for small  sterilizers, and ensures complete steam penetration of all items, also those  that are difficult to sterilize. You will achieve a better standard of hygiene in your practice and reduce the danger of cross – contamination for patients.

The type B sterilisation cycle is used to process loads that can retain air. It can sterilise solid, hollow, and porous instruments, be they wrapped or unwrapped. Pressurised steam is an effective sterilising agent provided that the internal air has first been removed from the chamber as well as the air retentive load. Residual air prevents direct contact between steam and the load to be sterilised. Hence this B-cycle involves the use of active (forced) air removal, usually by using an inbuilt vacuum pump. These pre vacuum or Class-B sterilisers create a vacuum, thus removing air from the load prior to the chamber being pressurised with steam. This can be done from one to three times, depending on the cycle selected. This technique allows faster and more effective steam penetration throughout the entire instrument load than the gravity displacement technique typically employed in sterilisers with N-cycles.

HEPA Air Purifier – Honeywell HAP-18250

Honeywell True HEPA air purifiers are the best choice for reducing airborne allergens. In fact, more doctors recommend Honeywell enviracaire® air purifiers to their patients than any other brand. The True HEPA filter removes at least 99.97% of common household particles as small as 0.3 microns from the air passing through it such as dust, pollen, tobacco smoke, mold spores and cat dander. It even helps reduce viruses and bacteria.* The carbon pre-filter captures larger airborne particles and helps remove common household odors. The CPZ (Carbon, Potassium Permanganate and Zeolite) filter is a highly effective material in reducing household odors, tobacco odors, pet odor, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from different kinds of modern chemical products including paints, cleaning supplies, pesticides, building materials/furnishing and office equipment .
